I'm Lou.
I started my career as a fashion designer, spanning over 12 years honing my craft, in Italy, Canada, and Hong Kong. I've had the privilege of working with renowned brands like Guess Jeans and Aritzia. After experiencing burnout, I embarked on a five year adventure through Central and South America, living in a van in Mexico and immersing myself in handcrafted textiles.
I found myself captivated by the artistry of handcrafts, scouring markets and remote villages to connect with artisans to develop textiles. When life threw a curveball, I found myself back in Australia, drawn to the lifestyle of Byron Bay.
My love for textiles has taken me across the globe and back, culminating in the birth of Cha Studios. Here, I have the opportunity to share my passion for textiles, hand crafting and the art of slow furniture, all while striving for sustainability.
